Paltrow offends neighbours
LONDON – CELEBRITY couple Gwyneth Paltrow and her rocker husband Chris Martin have offended their neighbours in London’s trendy Belsize Park with their latest home security plans, reported entertainment media on Monday.
According to a report in the UK’s Sunday Telegraph, the power couple’s plans to build a 3m metal fence at the bottom of their yard is the source of the neighbourhood dispute.
The plans submitted to Camden Council are for a security barrier to divide the land they bought from actress Kate Winslet and director husband, Sam Mendes, for S$5.13 million in 2004 from that of their neighbors.
One disgruntled neighbour told the newspaper: ‘It’s rather over the top. Who cares who he (Martin) is? Other houses in the street are as much at risk of opportunist burglaries as his is. We don’t ask for huge fences between our homes.’
